Bill Drennen
Senior RF Engineer

In college Bill had to choose between engineering and flying F16s. He went with the former because he knew engineering was the thing he could never give up. The pull of solving problems and discovering new things was even stronger than the thrill of piloting a jet.

For more than 25 years, Bill has worked on RF technology across the spectrum from RF/microwave design to fiber optics. Some of his favorite projects include a broadband software-defined receiver for cellular location, and, in his military work, a millimeter-wave broadband down converter. At Bresslergroup, he’s primarily responsible for wireless and RF technology. He helps clients determine the best wireless solution for their application, then helps to ensure its highest possible performance.

Bill earned both his Bachelor and Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from Villanova University and has two patents under his belt. Outside of work you’ll find him hiking, camping, and drinking really good beer, which he describes as German and Belgian with a hat tip to Guinness.

If you could redesign anything, what would it be? Usually I want to redesign the coffee access in office spaces. What are you most curious about? The roots of things — how they work and why. The deeper the mystery, the more the curiosity. What's your favorite all-time product and why? I think when ice cream was created, it was a turning point in the history of humanity.
