David Schiff
Director of Research & Development

Dave has directed engineering efforts in design consultancy environments for nearly twenty-four years, including twelve at Bresslergroup.

In his early days at the firm, he helped set up our first in-house lab in a former storage closet. Today he keeps an eye on our 10,000 square foot lab/studio and develops our technological capabilities to ensure we’re using the very latest tools. 

Dave is dedicated to resolving design challenges with elegant and innovative solutions. He has been granted more than sixty patents, which just begins to hint at his problem-solving abilities and creativity. He is also a talented client manager and project manager who enjoys getting the best out of his team. He has spoken and published widely on project management, intellectual property, technical innovation, and medical product design.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, supplemented by graduate study in Industrial Design at the Philadelphia College of Art, and Psychology of Creativity at the University of Delaware. He received an IDEA Gold award (1992) and was a Medical Design Excellence award finalist (1998).
