Ed Garcia
Electrical Engineer

Ed's interest in robotics and how it pushes our ideas about technology and the future drew him to engineering. For Ed, being an engineer offers the perfect mix of reason, creativity, and tinkering.

At Bresslergroup, Ed is responsible for electronic design and embedded development. His integrated background in mechanical and electrical engineering helps him understand products that require an integrated approach — as more of them do. He recognizes his own approach in Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s view of design: “A designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.”

Ed earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from the Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, where he helped develop a low-cost, scalable, easy-to-build robotics prototype for use in swarm robotics. He further pursued robotics by earning a Master of Science in it at the University of Pennsylvania. In his free time, Ed continues to work on his own (what else?) robotics prototypes.

What's your all-time favorite product? The PC! A product that has become a household staple must be really good. If you could redesign anything, what would it be? School curriculums so they're more suitable for the modern era. Finish this sentence: Design is ...: ... achieving the most user satisfaction with the least complexity possible.
