Ed Mitchell
Senior Industrial Designer

Ed likes every part of the design process but considers the very beginning — defining the constraints that will shape the final outcome — the most important.

He has a solid background doing front-end research, conceptualization, and refinement for a variety of product categories ranging from athletic equipment to medical devices.

Ed challenges himself to bring ideas from other disciplines into his industrial design practice. He relishes Bresslergroup’s multidisciplinary approach, which has him working closely with engineers to fine-tune designs for production.

His curiosity and flexibility are always leading him to try new things, including starting a blog about his side projects. That endeavor inspired Accelerator’s Side Project series. (He has the distinction of having written Bresslergroup’s most frequented blog post.) Ed, an Ohio native, earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design with a minor in Graphic Design from the Cleveland Institute of Arts.
