Pat Sweeney
Mechanical Engineer

Pat has always loved the challenge of making something new and exciting.

After years of designing products for real-world application, he has learned that the most exciting designs are those developed with manufacturability and assembly in mind. These are the ones that actually get made and succeed. His motto: Running with half-baked ideas is like running with scissors … it never ends well.

He finds the realization of the final product incredibly rewarding. There is no greater feeling than walking down the aisle of a store, and seeing a product he helped design sitting on the shelf. As an engineer, he knows that every simple-looking product took hours’ worth of effort to design, tweak, and create its best version possible.

Pat earned a Bachelor of Science as well as a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University. Outside of work, you can find him … outside — backpacking or skiing, depending on time of year.

What's your favorite all-time product? Full Tilt ski boots. If you could redesign anything, what would it be? Roller coasters. They need to go faster! Finish this sentence: Design is... ... transforming a fantastic idea into an effective solution.
