First Handheld Brain Hematoma Detector
Philadelphia, PA - November 17, 2006 - Bresslergroup recently completed the design of the InfrascannerT, handheld brain hematoma detector. This non-invasive handheld imaging device uses near infrared (NIR) technology for the rapid detection of hematoma, or bleeding in the brain. While CAT Scans (CT) are currently the diagnostic standard for hematomas, many head trauma patients do not quickly receive a CT scan due to availability issues. One of Bresslergroup's largest contributions was helping InfraScan, Inc. better understand their diverse user group. Through research, Bresslergroup determined a list of user needs by examining and role playing use scenarios in such differing environments as the scene of an accident, hospital emergency rooms / ICU units, and military applications. The Infrascanner addresses this unmet medical need for a simple, low-cost, accurate hematoma detection device for use in a variety of settings.
