Peter W. Bressler

Peter Bressler founded the firm in 1970. Peter is active in innovation process consulting and is on the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania, teaching integrated product design classes.

Peter's particular strengths include user research, human factors application, manufacturing processes and innovative criteria conflict resolution. Peter has authored or co-authored over 60 design and utility patents and has received over 40 national design awards. An active member in his professional society for over 30 years and a former President of the Industrial Designers Society of America, Peter was made a Fellow of the Society in 1992.

Peter's international engagements include an invitation by the city of Tianjin, China, as a guest design consultant. He has presented at the United States Information Agency Design in America exhibit touring Eastern Europe and has conducted lectures and seminars in Japan, Taiwan, France, Italy and the former Yugoslavia. In addition, he has served on the Industrial Design faculty at the Philadelphia College of Art and has lectured at the Rhode Island School of Design, Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, University of the Arts, Lehigh University, and Drexel University. Peter has also served as Juror for the ID Magazine Design Review, the Krupps Awards, The Consumer Electronics Innovation Awards, the Reebok Designation program and the Industrial Design Excellence Awards program, which he chaired in 1993.

In 2010, Peter was the recipient of the IDSA Personal Recognition Award. Peter graduated from Rhode Island School of Design, receiving the Alcoa and Industrial Design Society of America Merit Awards. He is an avid sailor and wood worker and is currently restoring a 1973 IOR 1/4 Ton Class Ocean Racer.
