ICI Insecticide Dispenser
ICI Americas insecticide marketing group felt there was an opportunity
to created added user value to their bulk insecticide products
by providing a measuring dispenser -- free with each new quart
of insecticide. They wanted to spend $1.50 or less for each dispenser.
Bresslergroup's onsite observation and interview process uncovered
several critical criteria that enabled an award winning design
that exterminators truly loved.
Imagine
The ICI dispenser is designed as a 3 part injection molded product.
The body includes a large flange to prevent the fluorescing
of insecticide powder, and horizontal ribs which provide a
large diameter low contact grip surface, and distinct appearance.
Implement
The measuring chambers vary in size with the insecticide that
they are packed with. And for disposal, the red torque handle
is broken off separating the chamber and preventing its use
for other applications. It also complies with the EPA triple
rinse requirement.
Impact
Providing more function than initially specified for less cost
than originally targeted, the product was a resounding success
in the market. The ICI design received an Industrial Design
Excellence Award. |
