Prototyping and Testing

The design team conducted user feedback sessions using prototypes and then again after production. Each user study yielded consistently positive results in terms of user comfort and functionality. Post production, with real products, the development team ran a series of groups with the following results: On a scale of 1-7 the mean score for the handle of the ice cream scoop was a 5.7, on the same scale the cheese knife was a 6.1. Cutco tested the cheese knife against Roslee and Global - the two knives thought to be the best in the market. Cutco’s handle was selected most comfortable. Comments included - handle won't break easily, comfortable to hold, easy to grip, material keeps it from slipping, handle comfort excellent, good for people with arthritis or carpal tunnel.
