Vendor Sourcing
The vendoring process actually began during the concept refinement
phase, with team members researching and identifying a short
list of qualified domestic and off shore production partners.
As the CAD files and BOM moved through development steps we sent
quote packages to a range of partners for preliminary cost estimating
as well as for feedback to the team. The dialogue we created
early on with select partners paved the way for effective decision
making and also fed the development process with critical information
related to cost, component availability, etc. Ultimately, our
client and Bresslergroup representatives toured several facilities
in China to cement the relationship and work through the transition
plan toward final production. Through negotiations, the production
partner even agreed to invest in critical product testing equipment
necessary for compliance testing for both US and other global
markets.
