User Interface Assessments
Usability consulting is the first step in redesigning an interface. As a team we examine the strengths and weaknesses of the current User Interface design, as well as reviewing competitive/comparable interfaces. An expert review through our usability consulting examines a range of usability and design characteristics that includes:
- Clarity and prioritization of information layout
- Quality and appropriateness of visual / graphic design
- Logic and consistency of task flow, labeling and controls
- Compliance with accessibility, usability, human factors guidelines and/or other appropriate, industry-specific standards
User interface assessments through usability consulting are an efficient way to prioritize issues to focus on for a redesign, prior to gaining end-user input through usability testing and other research methods. The results of a consulting assessment include specific findings and recommendations with supporting examples and guidelines. Accompanying interaction design concepts are created to illustrate how key recommendations would improve the user interface design and usability of the interface.
