User Interface Assessments
A design and usability review is a useful method for assessing applications, providing the following value:
• Provides evaluation of the usability of applications
• Identifies the strengths and weaknesses to guide the prioritization of further analysis and/or redesign efforts
• Serves as a baseline and comparative benchmark to evaluate the effectiveness of changes
This assessment applies expertise in design and usability principles to evaluate the application. Areas of analysis included the following:
Application Performance - Speed and responsiveness; user feedback for load time
Navigation and Task Flow - Ability for users to navigate the application and move through tasks in a flexible and logical manner
Data Presentation and Visualization - Clarity and readability of information presentation
Interaction and Controls - Usability and flexibility of controls (e.g. filters, sorting data entry)
Visual Design - Overall aesthetic quality, layout of information and clarity of visual elements (e.g. icons)
User Assistance - Support for help and user feedback
