Ed's interest in robotics and how it pushes our ideas about technology and the future drew him to engineering. For Ed, being an engineer offers the perfect mix of reason, creativity, and tinkering.
At Bresslergroup, Ed is responsible for electronic design and embedded development. His integrated background in mechanical and electrical engineering helps him understand products that require an integrated approach — as more of them do. He recognizes his own approach in Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s view of design: “A designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.”
Ed earned a BS in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from the Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, where he helped develop a low-cost, scalable, easy-to-build robotics prototype for use in swarm robotics. He further pursued robotics by earning an MS in the subject at the University of Pennsylvania. In his free time, Ed continues to work on his own (what else?) robotics prototypes.
