For John, seeing and holding finished parts, after spending hours refining them in CAD, is a magical experience.
At Bresslergroup, John specializes in design for injection-molded plastic parts, finite element analysis (FEA), and prototyping and fabrication. He’s involved in each stage of the product development cycle. He helps clients understand technical constraints, develops possible solutions, and he builds prototypes to represent product functionality. He enjoys complex problem solving, brainstorming creative solutions, and learning about new technologies and design approaches.
John knew he wanted to pursue a career in mechanical engineering as soon as he learned about Newtonian kinematics, which piqued his interest in breaking down complex problems. It helped that his dad is also a mechanical engineer and exposed John to the illustrated book, The Way Things Work, by David Macaulay at an early age. John earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University.
Outside of work, John likes to play jazz guitar, practice photography, take walks with his dog and fiancé, and visit great restaurants around the city. You can also find him keeping up with modern architects like Bjarke Ingels, snowboarding, or making tea in his Kinto Slow Coffee stacking mug — one of his all-time favorite products.
