Josh stepped sideways into the world of user experience and human factors engineering – and never left.
As a grad student studying Product Design at Berkeley, he was working on a product to enable new ways of team collaboration. He became fascinated with the user research aspects of the development process. Partnering directly with users to improve the product showed him how influential the world of user experience engineering can be.
After grad school Josh worked as a human factors engineer at a medical device company. Both there and at Bresslergroup, he has found that his background in mechanical engineering provides him with a deep understanding of product development that allows for impactful user research and design insight. While collaborating with designers and engineers to develop products centered around the users, it helps to speak everyone’s language.
Josh earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego and a Masters of Engineering in Product Design from the University of California, Berkeley. When he’s not at work, you will most likely find him cooking or baking, playing Folf or a video game, or taking in a movie.
