Tim Lechman
Embedded Software Engineer

For Tim, the best part of being an engineer is solving new problems every day.

At Bresslergroup, Tim is responsible for making clients’ products do exactly what they envisioned. He works with clients to understand their design goals and bring those to fruition via software. Tim has experience working with both hardware and firmware, which gives him a broad perspective and the ability to step in and work on the hardware side of projects as needed. His areas of expertise include developing systems with strict real-time requirements and digital signal processing.

Tim’s childhood spent building complex LEGO creations (think skyscrapers with working elevators and lights) led to a fascination with Arduino and a career in engineering. He has a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University.

Outside of work, Tim can be found playing hockey, mountain biking, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors in general. He’s also been known to dive into open-source projects, and he finds contributing to open-source communities highly rewarding.

Any hidden talents? Pickling and brewing beer What's your favorite all-time product? The carabiner! It’s just so simple but so ubiquitous, and I can’t imagine how many times I would have lost my keys if they weren’t clipped to my belt. If you could redesign anything, what would it be? I’d love to redesign fire systems in commercial buildings. With today’s technology, buildings could be designed to fight their own fires by targeting hotspots and controlling the airflow inside.
